I haven't seen the episode, but I read a quote from Colonel Tigh on Battlestar Galactica, and I was stunned by how wonderfully it expressed how STJs love.
"This is nonsense. She knows it. I don't need to say it. I shouldn't need to say it. To anyone. Isn't it enough that I feel it? I feel it... Shouldn't need to spout the words. I feel it less with words. Just let me Godsdamn feel it and I'll fill the frakking room."
I love it because it's not how I love, but it's how my father loves, and it's enough coming from the right person. I think it's beautiful and authentic, and I love Colonel Tigh for things like this that are just below the surface, if you just know how to look.
